Description
It is the purpose of the Math and Science Secondary school teacher to implement and assess curriculum to help students develop various skills and educational requirements to prepare them to enter the job market or pursue further education.
Required Education, Knowledge, Qualifications and Experience:
● A Bachelor’s degree from a recognized institution.
● Specialization in Science and Mathematics
● Experience working with children or students in a leadership capacity is an asset.
● Some teaching experience or practicum.
● Proficiency in the operation of computers, word processing applications and additional software like the Google Classroom is an asset.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Christian Studies Teaching, Planning & Assessing in the High School. Courses Offered on a Rotating Schedule:
● Grade 11 & 12 Physics
● Grade 11 & 12 Chemistry
● Grade 11 & 12 Biology
● Grade 10 Science
● Math 9 (Algebra 1)
● Math 10
● PreCalculus 11
● PreCalculus 12
The Secondary Teacher Will:
● Prepare, implement and assess lesson plans.
● Teach all students in a respectful, considerate, compassionate manner, reflecting Christ’s love for us daily.
● Work collegially with school staff, school-based administration and other volunteer staff.
● Understand & fundamentally agree with the School’s Mission, Core Values, and Statement of Faith
● Sign a one-year contract.
