Educational Requirements: Preference will be given to a teacher who has obtained a Bachelor of Education and who holds, or is eligible for, a valid Nova Scotia Teaching Certificate or has obtained a Christian Education Degree.
Experience Required: Prior teaching and administration experience is an asset. Preference will be given to an individual who has experience working with children and youth in a variety of settings, as well as leadership experience.

Colchester Christian Academy offers a quality education for children in Pre-Primary to Grade 12.  Through our structured programming, CCA students not only grow academically, but also personally, socially and spiritually. Colchester Christian Academy exists to be a Christ-centred school providing a quality academic education to students by integrating Biblical truth and learning into their daily lives.
 
The Principal is a key part of the administrative team whose function is to support and assist the CCA Board of Governors in meeting the overall objectives of CCA and the needs of individual students.  The role of Principal is to facilitate and collaborate in providing leadership, direction and coordination within the school.
 
The Principal’s main focus should be to help develop and maintain effective educational programs within CCA and to promote the improvement of teaching and learning within CCA.  The Principal should strive to create an organization and climate, which fosters student and teacher growth.  In fulfilling this role the Principal shall work under the supervision of the Board of Governors.  As well, the Principal should work closely with the Board of Governors to advance CCA via marketing, student recruitment, and advancement planning for the future.  
 
The responsibilities of the CCA Principal include continually improving school climate and providing sound leadership, ongoing program development, overseeing school organization, staffing, professional development and staff management, proficiency in student evaluation and reporting, communication and public relations, as well as school advancement.
